Inauguration of a renewable energy logistics center in southern Poland
We have signed an agreement for the management of a new logistics warehouse in southern Poland, near the German border. This strategic center will enable the efficient supply of components for wind farms in Central Europe, with a special focus on Germany, applying a Just In Time (JIT) logistics model.
The project is being developed jointly with the Polish company Franklin, within the framework of a joint venture created to drive advanced logistics solutions in the renewable energy sector. The new center will serve to centralize components manufactured in different countries, which will subsequently be distributed to various wind farms from this base, optimizing logistics times and costs.
Nearly 5 decades of success
Next November, Gimex will celebrate five decades of experience
in the sector, since its founding in 1976 as a freight forwarder and provider of logistics services. Currently, Gimex specializes in the comprehensive management of warehouses for renewable energy companies, featuring its own proprietary software, highly qualified personnel, and a solid international infrastructure.
Gimex operates as a freight forwarder, customs agent, rail operator, and logistics manager, with its own warehouses and a workforce of around 100 professionals. The company stands out for its family-run structure, total independence from business groups, and a personalized approach that offers service as an added value for a well-defined international clientele.
It is worth noting that the company’s founder, Ángel Tellechea Goyena, remains at the helm of the firm, accompanied by his five children—a third generation contributing to the growth and expansion of services and markets. For instance, Patricia Tellechea leads Gimex USA, providing DAP logistics services across the US and Canada, including transport with their own fleet of trucks.
Meanwhile, Ángel Tellechea Lorenzo (Chief Operating Officer), Carlos Tellechea (Project Management Director), Victoria Tellechea (Executive Director), and Alejandra Tellechea (Deputy Director) are spearheading the business expansion in Spain and Europe.
Ángel Tellechea Goyena, Chairman of the company, continues to lead the firm and the Consulate. One of his most recent commitments was the promotion of the Euskadi–Poland Forum 2025, which he attended alongside the Minister of Economy and Finance, Andrzej Domański; Ambassador Monika Krzepkowska; the President of the West Pomerania Region, Olgierd Geblewicz; and the President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), Andrzej Dycha.
The first panel of this Forum focused on Renewable Energy; Offshore Wind & Clean Tech: Powering Connections Between Poland and the Basque Country, exploring opportunities for business and technological cooperation between Euskadi and Poland within the renewable energy sector.
